In this case, Bags to Wishes is taking that fun to a philanthropy level for the 4th year in a row in hopes of raising over $30,000 to grant 6 wishes to Illinois children living with a life-threatening medical condition. Make-A-Wish® Illinois is dedicated to helping children with life-threatening medical conditions. Wishes are a powerful experience for sick children filling their lives with hope, strength and joy during a bleak period. Our goal is to provide an escape from the reality of a child’s illness and create a world where dreams can and do come true.
The Foundation continues to grow and prosper as we celebrate 26 years of serving children with serious illnesses. Since 1985, we have made the dreams of more than 10,000 children in Illinois become a reality, never turning a wish away for lack of funds or creativity. Our administrative and fundraising costs remain constant at 20%, which means that 80 cents of every dollar donated is used to grant wishes. It is our hope to fulfill the most heartfelt wishes of 800 children this year at an average cost of $5,000 per wish. A child is waiting for his or her wish to become a reality, and you can help make that wish come true.
